As an Air Cadet, you can take to the skies with our flying training syllabus! You'll start off building basic skills on our Flight Simulators, learning the aircraft controls, forces and procedures. Once you've got that under your belt, you'll be put forward to attend real-life flying training in real RAF aircraft!

Air Cadets is about building skills that can be useful in both civilian & military life... we provide comprehensive training on a number of different civilian and military weapon systems. Don't worry, all of our weapons instructors are fully trained to regular Royal Air Force standards and follow strict safety regulations issued by the Ministry of Defence. Safety is the word! 

Camoflauge, tactical movement and communications... it all builds into field skills! If leading your team through uncharted territory, striking camp, learning definsive tactics tick your boxes - this is the topic for you! If you get really good, you could even apply for the coverted Junior Leaders Course and become a Field skills specialist! 

The Air Cadets is one of the UK's largest contributors towards the DofE award scheme. With over 10,000 cadets registered across the country, we actively run training sessions to support cadets in achieving their goals! 

Taking our lead from our parent organisation, the Royal Air Force, Radio & Cyber is one of our key training areas. Our nationally recognised cyber security training not only looks good on a cadets CV but makes sure that young people stay safe online and know where to access support. We also develop communication skills and radio communication procedure... useful for those budding pilots and Air Traffic Controllers! 

As a uniformed youth organisation, drill & ceremonial activites are a key part of what we do! We wear the same uniform as the regular Royal Air Force and undertake a number of public ceremonial activities throughout the year. Come give us a wave at Bideford Mayors Parade or Northam May Fair! 

Partnered with St John Ambulance, we provide recognsied First Aid training that can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved. Covereing everything from bites & stings, through to CPR, severe bleeding and more... everyone gets basic lifesaving skills when they join. If you like it, you can always push yourself further! 

Leadership & Teamwork is a crucial element of working life, whether in a military or civilian career. Our cadets get stuck in from day one, developing their interpersonal and leadership qualities. Working through a supportive programme, from leading small teams through to large scale activities, we'll support cadets every step of the way! Future managers... look no further!
